About us

Interfels was founded in the year 1961 in Salzburg / Austria by 32 members of the so-called „Salzburg Geomechanic‘s Circle“ around Leopold Müller. According to its original charta, the objective of the company was technological testing of rock masses in all countries of the world, scientific research in the field of Geomechanics and issuing of official test certificates. Next to the these objectives the development, manufacturing and application of in-situ instrumentation for testing and for performance monitoring in rock were persuaded in the same degree. The Interfels tradition has over the years been enhanced by innovations in the field of manufacturing geotechnical instrumentation, data acquisition, software and in-situ testing technologies.
